The Olympic village covers 52 hectares and will be transformed after the Games into an environmentally friendly neighborhood for 6,000 residents with two schools, a hotel, a public park, shops and offices. At its peak, almost 14,500 people reside in the village, including 9,000 athletes from more than 200 countries.
